Reuters Fights Authors’ Demand for AI Agreements in OpenAI Suit

Reuters News & Media Inc. argued that authors suing OpenAI Inc. for copyright infringement haven’t justified why the news agency should turn over its AI training licensing agreements.

Reuters argued that the authors’ motion to compel should be denied because the documents aren’t necessary and the “unduly burdensome” requests outweigh the authors’ “narrow” justification, in an opposition filed Monday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
