Resonac Joins Toshiba Hard Drive Patent Case, Drops MR Tech Suit

Resonac Hard Disk Corp. and its US unit dropped their lawsuit seeking declaratory judgment that their products don’t infringe three MR Technologies GmbH patents after it joined MR Tech’s suit against Toshiba America Electronic Components Inc. over the same technology.

Resonac dismissed the case without prejudice because it may need to re-assert its claims if the court overseeing MR Technologies’ case against Toshiba America Electronics Components Inc. doesn’t have jurisdiction, according the notice of dismissal filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
