Redbubble Hit With Class Complaint Over Counterfeit Art Sales

Redbubble Inc. is facing a class complaint in Los Angeles federal court alleging the global online marketplace for user generated artwork allows “widespread” counterfeit art sales.

Wallshoppe, a company that sells wallpaper with various artistic designs, alleged that “hundreds, if not thousands” of products sold on the platform contain unlicensed, unauthentic artwork.

The platform’s policies for addressing copyright infringement are “wholly inadequate,” according to the complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
