Redbubble Didn’t Infringe Atari Marks, Copyrights, Jury Says

Redbubble Inc. didn’t infringe Atari or Pong trademarks or copyrights on Atari Interactive Inc. games like “Asteroids” and “Missile Command,” a jury in a California federal court ruled Thursday.

The online print-on-demand marketplace avoided liability after a five-day trial in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.

Atari’s 2018 complaint said Redbubble advertised and sold shirts bearing its trademarks and copyrighted material. It also alleged counterfeiting, a form of trademark infringement carrying harsher penalties.
