Red Bull Racing to Settle Patent Case Over Race Car ‘Halos’

Red Bull Racing Ltd. and a Norwegian inventor called a truce that will bring to a close a nearly three-year old Texas patent lawsuit over a driver-safety device used in Formula One race cars.

Judge Alan D Albright on Thursday morning paused all case deadlines, after inventor Jens H.S. Nygaard and Red Bull disclosed late the previous day that they had “successfully negotiated a settlement in principle.”
