Real estate software firm RealPage Inc. failed to win an immediate stop Wednesday to a Berkeley, Calif., city ordinance scheduled to take effect next week that bans landlords from using coordinated pricing algorithms to set rental rates.
Instead, Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley said at a hearing she needs more information about the nature of RealPage’s rental software product and declined to explicitly block enforcement of the ordinance starting April 24.
