Monsta Athletics LLC filed suit in federal court against Rawlings Sporting Goods Co., and subsidiary Easton Diamond Sports LLC, alleging they intentionally marked bats with false patent numbers.
Rawlings and Easton marked unpatented bats with intent to deceive the public, according to the complaint filed in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
The patent at issue, held by Easton and Rawlings, is for “Composite Baseball Bat,” and identified as the ‘826 Patent.
