Rappers Bryson Tiller, J. Cole Hit With Copyright Suit

Rappers Bryson Tiller and J. Cole are accused of copyright infringement in a new federal lawsuit over their respective songs “Exchange” and “Deja Vu.”

Gary Frisby, known professionally as G-Money, claims the songs copy the kick pattern, snare pattern, FX swell, and vocal strike of his song “Shawty So Cold.” He’s suing Tiller, Cole, and several producers.

Other defendants are RCA Records, the record label for “Exchange,” and its parent company Sony Music Entertainment; Dreamville Records and Roc Nation Records, the labels for “Deja Vu;" and Interscope Records, which distributed “Deja Vu,” and its parent company Universal Music Group ...
