Rapper Ye Sheds Bulk of Copyright Claims Over His ‘Donda’ Songs

Rapper Ye defeated claims that two songs on his 2021 album “Donda” infringed music created by DJ Khalil and three other artists, narrowing the copyright case to only allegations related to earlier versions of one song.

Artist Revenue Advocatses LLC failed to establish they owned compositional rights to the original music or that the album versions of Ye’s songs “Moon” or “Hurricane” directly copied its sound, Judge Michelle Williams Court of the US District Court for the Central District of California ordered Thursday.
