Rapper Future Must Face Trademark Claims Over ‘High Off Life’

The rapper Future must face claims in Pennsylvania federal court that his 2020 hit album “High Off Life” and associated merchandise infringed the trademark of a hip hop production company of the same name.

Future’s record label, Freebandz Productions LLC, was unable to immediately end the case with the argument that using the “High Off Life” mark was protected by the First Amendment.

High Off Life LLC, which was founded by rapper Zach Richards, said it has used “High Off Life” in the music business since 2004. He began selling merchandise under the brand in 2009.
