Members of rap group Three 6 Mafia accused hip hop duo $uicideboy$ of making millions from sampling at least 35 of its songs in a copyright complaint filed in California federal court Thursday.
Two of Three 6 Mafia’s three founding members accused $uicideboy$ members Scott Arceneaux Jr. and Aristos Petrou of stealing from nearly three dozen songs—sometimes also using the original’s song title—in the complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Portions of the newer songs in some instances were “virtually identical,” the lawsuit said.
