Qorvo Wins $11.7 Million in Attorneys Fees in Akoustis IP Suit

Qorvo Inc. won $11.7 million in attorneys’ fees after a May trial found Akoustis Technologies Inc. willfully stole its trade secrets and infringed its wireless technology patents.

The multinational company’s initial request for more than $12.1 million in fees—which are available in cases of willful and malicious misappropriation under the Defend Trade Secrets Act—was trimmed in Judge Jon P. McCalla’s Monday order in the US District Court for the District of Delaware. McCalla reduced several parts of the final total, including the amount Qorvo’s legal team claimed for travel time.
