‘Purple Rain’ Co-Star Ends ‘Apollonia’ Trademark Rights Suit (1)

Patty Apollonia Kotero, Prince’s co-star in his 1984 film “Purple Rain,” dropped her lawsuit against the late music star’s estate seeking a declaration she owned the name “Apollonia.”

Paisley Park Enterprises LLC’s motion to dismiss was pending when the parties agreed to drop the case without prejudice in a Wednesday filing in the US District Court for the Central District of California. The parties will each bear their own fees and costs, according to the filing.
