Prince’s estate and Spike Lee fended off claims in the Second Circuit on Monday that Prince’s song “Girl 6" copied elements from another song submitted for the soundtrack of the same-named Spike Lee film.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit affirmed in an unpublished opinion that James M. Brandon’s copyright infringement claims were barred because he lost on the same issue in Florida federal court in 2017.
