Perplexity AI Inc. may launch its AI-powered browser under the “Comet” name while a lawsuit accusing the $14 billion startup of trademark infringement over its moniker moves forward, a California federal judge ruled Monday.

Comet ML Inc., which develops AI model lifecycle management software, failed to demonstrate a likelihood of consumer confusion, Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers said in an order issued in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
