PPG Sues Axalta for Patent Royalties on Paint Technology in Cars

PPG Industries said Axalta Coating Systems’ Cromax line of multilayered automotive coating products infringes a patent related to PPG’s Andaro tint-dispersion technology.

  • PPG is seeking cash compensation of at least a reasonable royalty for use of the invention by Axalta and its customers and a court order blocking Axalta and its customers from further unauthorized use of the invention, according to complaint filed Friday in federal court in Wilmington, Delaware
