Polsinelli Accused of Bad Faith in Medical Device Patent Cases

Demand letters Polsinelli PC sent to a medical device company violated Tennessee and Mississippi state laws against asserting patents in bad faith, the health company alleged in a pair of lawsuits.

The Big Law firm’s letters, on patent owner Roger Jackson’s behalf, alleged posterior fixation devices infringed the former doctor’s patents, according to complaints filed Wednesday by Zavation Medical Products LLC and its Choice Spine LLC unit. But those letters, spanning 2022 to 2026, were flawed, according to the medical device companies.
