PNC, Plaid Both Denied Summary Judgment in Trademark Suit (1)

PNC Financial Services Group Inc.'s lawsuit over fintech company Plaid Inc. using the bank’s trademarks will proceed to a scheduled September trial after a federal judge denied both parties’ summary judgment requests, saying there were factual questions to be decided.

PNC sued Plaid, which helps users connect their bank accounts to other financial apps like Robinhood and Venmo, in 2020 alleging federal and state claims including trademark infringement, counterfeiting, and false advertising.
