PNC Hit With $4.3 Million Verdict Over USAA Mobile Patents (2)

PNC Bank owes the United Services Automobile Association a total of $4.3 million for infringing a pair of mobile banking patents, a federal jury found Friday, continuing the financial services group’s streak of success in enforcing its intellectual property in East Texas while awarding a fraction of the bank’s requested damages.

The jury additionally upheld the validity of the patents but said PNC’s infringement was not willful. Jurors also rejected PNC’s counterclaims that USAA infringed two of its own patents.
