Plaintiff Drops Lawsuit Over Medical Equipment Firm Data Breach

New York medical equipment provider Advanced Recovery Equipment and Supplies LLC won’t have to face a proposed class action alleging its poor data security exposed 56,000 patients’ private health information after the plaintiff dropped the lawsuit.

Anamari Laurentz filed a notice of voluntary dismissal of her suit against Advanced Recovery, without prejudice, Nov. 22 in the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York—only 18 days after she sued the company.
