Photographer Harold Davis sued the makers of the app Pinterest in San Francisco federal court, alleging the platform facilitates and promotes copyright infringement by its users.
Davis says the photo sharing site “provides a mechanism for people to violate the copyright rights of others” and encourages the “wholesale, unauthorized copying of photographs.”
Davis is a professional photographer, author, and digital artist who says his works have been exhibited at art galleries and licensed to publishers, corporations, and publications around the world.
