Philips Wins Discovery of Older Global Sales Data in Patent Suit

A federal judge ordered a defendant in a dispute over Koninklijke Philips NV’s cellular patents to turn over global sales data dating back more than a decade, finding limits on patent damages don’t restrict discovery for related contract claims.

Magistrate Judge Christopher J. Burke issued an oral order Thursday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware granting Philips’ motion to compel broader discovery from Quectel Wireless Solutions Co.
