Philips North America LLC and Summit Imaging Inc. settled their copyright, trade secrets and antitrust dispute over maintenance of Philips ultrasound equipment in Washington federal court.
Philips had accused Summit, a medical equipment maintenance company, of hacking its ultrasound equipment’s systems to enable features Philips customers hadn’t paid for. Summit responded by claiming Philips illegally monopolized the maintenance market by refusing access to its machines.
The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington dismissed Summit’s antitrust claims in November, but let Summit amend the complaint.
