Philip Morris Wins Ongoing Royalty on Reynolds E-Vapor Products

British American Tobacco Plc’s R.J. Reynolds Vapor Co. must pay an ongoing royalty on US sales of two e-vapor products that a Virginia jury in June found infringe one of two patents held by a Philip Morris International Inc. subsidiary.

Judge Leonie M. Brinkema issued the order Thursday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, requiring Reynolds pay a royalty on future sales of the Vuse Alto and Vuse Solo G2 vape cartridges but denying an injunction, which Philip Morris Products SA, the PMI unit, had also requested.
