A platform that helps health plan sponsors bid on prescription drug plans saw its patent infringement lawsuit against a competitor thrown out because its online software technology fell short of patent eligibility standards.
Truveris’ US Patent No. 10,817,920, which covers its TruBid software to help employers secure lower drug pricing plans, is invalid because it sought to cover an “admittedly well-known” abstract idea and implement it with generic computer processes, a federal judge in Ohio ruled Wednesday.
