A federal judge vacated her own order invalidating a Texas-based software company’s “perplexity” trademark, undoing a win she’d granted Perplexity AI Inc. as she questioned whether the court has jurisdiction.

Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley Monday vacated a Jan. 23 order granting Perplexity AI’s motion for default judgment, in which she wrote there’s no dispute that Perplexity Solved Solutions Inc. fraudulently obtained its trademark registration because the company failed to defend itself after a split with its counsel.
