Perplexity AI Pushes Court to Toss or Transfer Dow Jones IP Suit

Perplexity AI Inc. urged a federal judge to throw out a copyright infringement suit brought by publishers of the Wall Street Journal and New York Post, arguing her Manhattan court lacks jurisdiction over the California-based search engine.

There’s insufficient connection between Dow Jones & Co. and NYP Holdings Inc.'s infringement claims and Perplexity’s contacts with New York, the company said in a motion to dismiss or transfer filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
