Perkins Coie Wards Off Disqualification Attempt in Patent Case

Perkins Coie LLP may continue to represent Intel Corp. in a patent infringement suit brought by BeSang Inc. in a federal district court in Oregon.

BeSang’s counsel failed to show any true conflict of interest, the opinion by Judge Marco A. Hernandez of the US District Court for the District of Oregon said.

The underlying suit was filed against Intel in January 2023 and Perkins Coie made an appearance on Intel’s behalf in February. Plaintiff’s counsel notified Perkins Coie of the potential conflict of interest on June 13, and filed the disqualification motion June 26.
