Penn Mutual Life Insurance Co.'s “MyWorth” trademark is infringed by a financial planning app with the same name, according to a complaint filed in the Southern District of Texas July 16.
WealthCetera LLC’s “MyWorth” app is likely to create confusion with Penn Mutual’s MyWorth financial planning subsidiary, the complaint says.
Penn Mutual’s MyWorth is “dedicated to providing financial planning services for women,” helping women navigate major life changes “through education, advice, and a sense of community” since 2012. The complaint says that Clarity Financial LLC commissioned WealthCetera to develop the MyWorth mobile application, an “all-in-one personal finance app.”
