Peloton Sues IFit, Echelon Over New Patent for On-Demand Classes

Peloton filed lawsuits against rivals IFit and Echelon, claiming a range of exercise devices and features infringe as many as four patents, including one issued last week.

  • Peloton is seeking cash compensation and court orders blocking sales of allegedly infringing products until patents have expired, according to complaints filed Friday in federal court in Wilmington, Delaware
  • Complaint against IFit targets at least 55 models of products sold under brands NordicTrack, ProForm and FreeMotion that use IFit’s leaderboard or its ActivePulse or SmartAdjust features
    • IFit is “profiting immensely from this infringement,” complaint says
