‘Peaky Blinders’ Producer Fails to Halt Makers of Namesake Booze

The producer of the television series “Peaky Blinders” lost a bid for a preliminary order to bar a brewhouse from using the Peaky Blinder name, after the Central District of California found it’s not likely to succeed on the merits of the trademark infringement claims.

Caryn Mandabach Productions Ltd. failed to show it has an ownership interest in a valid and protectable mark or demonstrate a likelihood of confusion with a “Peaky Blinder” whiskey, gin, and rum made by Sadlers Brewhouse Ltd., the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California said Wednesday.
