Patent Suit Against Google Given New Life by Federal Circuit

A patent monetization company’s dismissed lawsuit against Google LLC is back on after the Federal Circuit partially reversed a decision killing its asserted patents.

WSOU Investments LLC filed five suits against the California-based tech giant in June 2020, asserting infringement of five patents. These included US Patent Nos. 8,965,045 and 9,335,825, which WSOU acquired from Nokia Corp. and relate to technology for image capture and radio transmission of human gestures, respectively.
