The US Patent and Trademark Office announced Montana as the first location for new community engagement offices to serve innovators in an eight-state region previously covered by the Rocky Mountain Regional Outreach Office.
Montana was selected due to its growing tech hub corridor anchored in the Bozeman-Gallatin Valley region, which has seen a doubling of patent applications from 2019 to 2023 and was designated a federal Tech Hub in 2023, the PTO said in a Monday news release.
