Patent Office Seeks Input to Fend Off Counterfeiting and Piracy

The US Patent and Trademark Office is calling for stakeholders to weigh in on the best ways to prevent piracy and counterfeiting.

In a Federal Register notice set to publish on Thursday, the agency said it’s working to address these issues as part of its collaboration with other federal agencies and the private sector. It’s seeking information on “current anticounterfeiting and antipiracy strategies that have proven effective, as well as ideas for future strategies.”

The agency plans to hold a roundtable to discuss potential strategies on October 3, 2023.
