ParkerVision Inc. plunged after it lost a U.S. appeals court bid to revive at $173 million patent infringement verdict against Qualcomm Inc. over wireless-network technology (ParkerVision, Inc. v. Qualcomm Inc., Fed. Cir., 14-01612, 7/31/15).
Qualcomm doesn’t infringe the ParkerVision patents, and some of the patents are invalid, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit said in an opinion posted on its electronic docket.
ParkerVision, a wireless-chip designer with no reported revenue, lost more than half its value, diving as much as 56 percent to 20 cents in Friday trading.
