Paramount Says Court Can’t Scrap ‘Top Gun’ Claims Against Writer

Paramount Global told a federal court it should allow fraud and copyright infringement counterclaims to advance against a writer whose lawsuit alleges he wrote parts of the blockbuster film “Top Gun: Maverick.”

Shaun Gray didn’t inform Paramount until after the movie’s release of his alleged contribution to the screenplay acquired through Gray’s cousin, Eric Warren Singer, according to the Sept. 17 filing in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
