Panini America Inc. is suing a California resident for allegedly selling pornographic trading cards using its trademarks.
Panini, which sells collectible sports trading cards, owns trademarks on words like “Kaboom,” “Immaculate,” and “National Treasures” set in a red typeface on a yellow background, as well as “Rated Rookie” in blue font. They allege a website took similar marks, put them next to adult film stars, and sold said product.
