Panasonic Sues Broadcom for Allegedly Infringing Wi-Fi 5 Patents

Panasonic Holdings Corp. is accusing Broadcom Corp. of infringing 10 patents that relate to faster Wi-Fi processing and wireless connectivity after Broadcom allegedly declined to license Panasonic’s patent portfolio.

Broadcom refused to license Panasonic’s entire library of patents in 2019 and has since been treading on a variety of designs that are necessary for modern wireless networking, including two standard-essential patents for the next-generation “Wi-Fi 5,” according to two complaints filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas.
