Palo Alto Networks Inc. settled a lawsuit accusing its network security firewall products of using Lionra Technologies Ltd’s patented data-processing technology without a license.
Lionra—an Irish patent-monetization entity—and Palo Alto notified the judge on June 14 that they’d reached a settlement in principle of “all matters in controversy between the parties,” according to a filing in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. They asked for a 30-day halt in the case to submit finalized dismissal papers. Terms of the agreement in principle weren’t publicly disclosed.
