Outkast settled its trademark lawsuit accusing an electronic dance music duo called ATLiens of infringing the hip-hop group’s album name.
A Georgia federal court dismissed the lawsuit on Feb. 20 after the parties filed a joint report saying they’d “reached agreement on a general settlement framework” and are working to finalize the deal.
Settlement details weren’t included in the filings.
Outkast sued the Atlanta-based duo in 2024 in the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, alleging it used the name of 1996 album ATLiens to promote its music and create merchandise—even mimicking advertisements for an Outkast show. ...
