Oura Health Oy’s patent and copyright lawsuit against Ultrahuman Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. should move forward at the same time as a trade investigation over the smart ring products, the Oura Ring maker told a federal judge in Texas.
Staying the suit isn’t appropriate because while the International Trade Commission’s investigation involves the same patents, it concerns different issues, Oura Health said in a filing Tuesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Oura Health argued the lawsuit concerns an additional patent and three copyrighted works not at issue in the ITC proceeding.
