Orange Electronic Co. failed to convince the Federal Circuit its protected method for tire pressure detection isn’t obvious due to prior patent applications, reversing a federal judge’s post-trial ruling that upheld a jury’s finding.
The asserted claims of US Patent No. 8,031,064 are obvious in light of the combination of information in two prior patent applications, according to an opinion issued Jan. 23 in the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. The court issued a correction Tuesday to fix a typo in the opinion.
