Oprah Accused of Ripping Off Author’s Work With ‘Greenleaf’ (1)

A North Carolina teacher is accusing Oprah Winfrey of copyright infringement for allegedly stealing material in her memoir to create “Greenleaf,” a television show Winfrey produces.

Freda J. Day alleges that the program, which airs on the Oprah Winfrey Network, shares characters, settings, and themes with her book “From the Green Leaf to Greener Pastures.” Day, representing herself, said she’d sent the book to more than 100 publishers, and to Winfrey herself, in 2009.
