OpenAI Taking Trademark Suit ‘Cameo’ Label Ban to Ninth Circuit

OpenAI Inc. filed notice it will ask the Ninth Circuit to reverse a ban on using “Cameo” to label features in its Sora video generator during its trademark dispute/fight with the Cameo personalized video service platform.

OpenAI will challenge a preliminary injunction finding Baron App Inc.—Cameo’s corporate name—likely to prevail in its trademark claim, according to a notice of appeal filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
