OpenAI, IYO Ask For Expedited Appeal of ‘IO’ Trademark Order

OpenAI Inc. and IYO Inc. asked the Ninth Circuit for a fast-tracked appeal on a temporary restraining order blocking the AI giant’s hardware startup from using an “IO” monicker accused of infringing IYO’s trademark.

The parties asked the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit for a schedule that would have briefing conclude by the end of August and oral argument by September or “as soon as practicable” to prevent a pending district court on a preliminary injunction request from rendering the current appeal moot, in a joint stipulated motion filed Wednesday.
