OpenAI Fires Back at IYO’s Bid to Block Use of Io Products Name

OpenAI Inc. shot back at a request to block the use of the name Io Products Inc. by former Apple Inc. chief designer Jony Ive’s startup, which the AI giant acquired last month in a nearly $6.5 billion deal.

Wearable device maker IYO Inc.'s claims of consumer confusion, filed against OpenAI and Io Products June 9, are “purely hypothetical and thus insufficiently ripe” for the court to act, OpenAI said in a Thursday opposition filing in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
