One World Trade Center Trademark Dispute Survives

A trademark lawsuit over the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s use of “World Trade Center” cleared a hurdle Dec. 15 that brought it closer to trial (World Trade Ctrs. Ass’n v. Port Auth. of N.Y., 2016 BL 417481, S.D.N.Y., No. 15 CV 7411-LTS, 12/15/16).

The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York declined to dismiss the World Trade Centers Association’s lawsuit against the Port Authority over its use of “World Trade Center” and “One World Observatory,” finding enough of a case for a likelihood of confusion.
