Olympic Figure Skaters, NBC Accused of Using Copyrighted Song

Musical duo Heavy Young Heathens accused NBC Universal and two Olympic figure skaters of infringing their copyright on a version of “House of The Rising Sun,” according to a complaint filed in California federal court.

Robert and Aron Marderosian, who compose music for films, TV, and commercials, alleged that the U.S. figure skating duo Alexa Knierim and Brandon Frazier skated to their version of the traditional folk song without permission during the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
