Ohio High School Athlete Paid Endorsements Allowed for Now

An Ohio judge temporarily allowed high school athletes in the state to use their name, image, and likeness for product endorsements, blocking a sports association’s bylaws that ban such uses.

The mother of Jamier Brown, a junior wide receiver at a Dayton-area high school who has committed to play at Ohio State University, “has met her burden to demonstrate by clear and convincing evidence that she is entitled” to a temporary restraining order, Franklin County Common Pleas Judge Jaiza Page said Monday.
