Ocean Aero Inc. redesigned an unmanned marine vessel to copy an Australian firm’s patented wing-sail technology after years of direct contact, including during a US Navy-led training exercise, a federal lawsuit alleges.
Ocius Technology Ltd. and two of its Solar Sailor units allege Ocean Aero’s Next Gen Triton autonomous underwater and surface vehicle infringes US Patent Nos. 9,937,987, D869,371, and 10,526,048, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware.
The suit seeks unspecified damages and an order blocking further unauthorized use of the inventions.
